Who Are We

We’re Kelly and Hy, a husband and wife duo and the founders of KEHY.

I’ve been making coffee for over eight years, while Hy has spent over four years behind the cocktail bar.

We both love people, hospitality and being creative, so naturally we thought, why not create a space of our own?

I’ve spent years helping build other people’s dreams, and it felt like it was finally time to build my own.

And that’s how KEHY was born.

Why KEHY

I’ve heard way too many “you shouldn’t do this” or “that’s not coffee” comment when it comes to inventive drinks, but I’ve always been quite adventurous and love coming up with fun, funky drinks that may be a little questionable sometimes.

That’s what we want KEHY to be about. We want to share great and memorable drinks, without being restricted with what something’s supposed to be or fit neatly into one box. We want the freedom to have fun and experiment what’s possible.

Expect a mix of traditional and untraditional cafe drinks. Come for something you already love or try something you’ve never had before. You might love it, you might hate it, but that’s part of the fun.

KEHY Meaning

The name starts with us, Kelly + Hy.

But it means much more than just that.

I’m Chinese Australian and Hy is Vietnamese. We’re two individuals from different cultures coming together, embracing both our similarities and differences. Our backgrounds naturally influence what we create, and we want to share pieces of the food, drinks and flavours we grew up with and love, while putting our own spin on them.

Music has also played a big part in my life. Just like changing the key of a song can change the whole atmosphere, we hope KEHY can be that “key” to your experience.
